Description

Starring Chelsea Jo Conard as Sally Bowles, featured singer at Berlin’s notorious Kit Kat Klub. The master of ceremonies invites the audience to forget all their troubles as Germany yields to the nazis. American writer Cliff is smitten by Sally while his boarding house proprietor begins a doomed romance. Enjoy such songs as “Wilkommen,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and “The Money Song.” This is the 1998 revised version of the 1966 musical.

Historical Notes

Book by Joe Masteroff. Music by John Kander. Lyrics by Fred Ebb. Based on the 1951 play I Am a Camera by John Van Druten and the 1939 novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood from his time living in Berlin from 1929 to 1933. Premiered on Broadway on November 20, 1966 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Opened in the West End at the Palace Theatre on February 28, 1968. Revived in the West End in 1986 at the Strand Theatre. The show was revised for Broadway, first in 1987, opening at the Imperial Theatre, and again in 1998 for a production at Studio 54.
