We take you to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy is about two con men betting on who can swindle a young American heiress out of fifty thousand dollars first.
Music and lyrics by David Yazbek. Book by Jeffrey Lane. Adapted from a screenplay by Dale Launer (1988's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and a screenplay by Stanley Shapiro and Paul Henning (1964's Bedtime Story). Premiered at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego on September 22, 2004. Opened on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre on March 3, 2005. Opened in the West End at the Savoy Theatre on April 2, 2014.
